Location: California | I looked inside my Idea and discovered the preamp / recorder is detachable but connected to the interior by a wire. I thought you could detach it entirely and take it, without the guitar, into another room for downloading...etc. Anyone else have this? They look like wires connected to the 9v battery terminal. |

I have seen two kinds...
I have seen the white plastic kind, which looks like something that holds the price tag onto clothing...
And there is a springy wire thing.
On one of mine, the springy wire thing looked like a black electrical wire.
It is not.
If you have a black wire, look at where it connects to the module...
There should be a little silver wire spring.
If there is, just pull it out or cut it.
There should be a similar arrangement at the "can" (guitar) end.
Either twist the spring out of the can, or cut it really close and the let the rest fall into the guitar... You can retrieve it later.

Location: California | Yes it is the module, and when I pop it our fron the guitar body the attached "cord" looks like a twisted wire pair, is springy, and is connected to what looks like a tiny spring. Since it is not a wire, it must be an anti theft device. I'll give it a snip. Thanks a bunch. |
