Interesting question for sure but here are some thoughts. Regardless of the type, model, etc, no two instruments are truly identical. They may look alike but each has it's own character, sound and playability. Sometimes the differences are subtle other times more pronounced. Ever pick up a guitar in a music store and it just had that feel that differed from others of the same type? Some seem to just feel and sound just right and others although good will differ in some small way. Have someone blindfolded and have them play each one and I'll bet one will stand out as the better to that individual (personal preferences of sound, feel, etc will likely apply). Not an exact science for sure but with some in this group have a much larger selection than I, what's your thoughts? There are days when my Guild just hits the mark while other times I pull out my Ovation(s) and it is the better to my ears maybe for the type of playing (fingerpicking, strummed, pickin lead riffs, etc)
