Location: Tennessee | While I'm much more an owner than a player, I have bought/sold many guitars over the past 40 years. While I've always liked Ovation, it's one of the few brands I never gotten... Until seemingly out of the blue, I decided I HAD to have one. In an effort to determine what model I should get, I learned that Fender has bought them in '08, and was shocked to find out the CT plant was shut-down last year. I knew then it was time to find a used New Haven model, even though an new Asian-built could be had with 0% 24 month financing.
As of today, I am the new owner of a 6778LX, although I have a grueling 6-day wait to hope it isn't damaged in transit, or lost. I would have waited until it arrived to make my first post here, but I'm pretty stoked and couldn't think of a better way to help pass the time.
This seems to be a great community, and I'm glad I found it. After seeing here that DW had acquired Ovation and intended to restart production in the original factory, I sent customer service an email last night, thanking them for doing so. I was pleasantly surprised to get a response today, thanking me for my note and advising me to "look for greatness in the very near future".
I can't say it hasn't been a great week, so far!
