Only about 80 people showed up...we had our drummer on the back of a Coca Cola truck so he was behind and slighty above us and consequently I could hear myself and the bass player for the first time. We played three sets and our lack of practice probably showed but we had decided to just go out and have fun and maybe everybody else would get caught up in our enthusiasm. Our third set was unplanned so it was mainly songs from the first and second set as well as Jingle Bells and a couple of other things that we'd never even played before...but by that time of the night nobody cared. Ten minutes after finishing we were asked to go and play a few more but a huge rainstorm hit so that was the end of that...probably a good thing. Thanks to everyone for all your advice. I'm so glad we did it. I think it's inspired my other two band members to concentrate a little more on the practise side of things. I've posted a couple of pics in my gallery if anyone is interested.

Like anything else, the more you do it, the more comfortable it becomes. We used to joke that is was great to get paid to practice! :)

The Breakup Song -- Greg Kihn Band *No Second Prize -- Jimmy Barnes Best Friend's Girl -- The Cars Just What I Needed -- The Cars 2nd set: Hotel California -- The Eagles Keep on Rockin' Me -- Steve Miller Saw Her Standing There -- The Beatles Light My Fire -- The Doors One More Time -- Joe Jackson *Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again -- The Angels *All Torn Down -- The Living End * Boys Light Up -- Australian Crawl Third set was a few repeats, couple of Xmas songs, a bit of a jam and a couple of unrehearsed things. Beal...I actually remembered all the words but I did have the set list stuck down there. And Randy...no Tim Tams (damn I've still got to send some over to you) but there was plenty of liquid refreshment and some funny looking cigarettes floating around. New Years Eve may be our next gig.

I've been sorely tempted every time I delve in there to dig out a capo or pick. I think "hey, I've got to post them to Lanaki" and they're still there a week later. If Oz beats me to it, I'll eat these ones. :D Oz... Well done. Did you have to get heavy with them? Did the 'Angels' song bring forth the usual singalong chorus?

Did the 'Angels' song bring forth the usual singalong chorus? [/QB] It was probably the best we've played if the truth be known. And yes.....we did ask for audience participation for Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again and the crowd didn't let us down.
