Hi all! I am an Ovation Preacher owner from the Netherlands. Bought new in 1988, I now know it was NOS for 14 years
So, I have the old style bridge which I think isn't ideal for sustain and tone. Now I found a NOS bridge from the later series that I want to install. I found that TonePros height adjustable bolts fit the bridge. Now I am wondering: has anyone done this swap before? Does the newer bridge slot right in, can I use the existing holes etc?

Thanks!

The newer style bridge does direct replace, however not sure about the TonePros bolts. The original bolts for the newer bridge are available from folks like myself and some others. Personally I like the older style bridge but each to his own. I do recall those Preacher style pickups, without the preamp like in the Deacon or Preacher Deluxe, were not the most "hot" pickups, but I also found ensuring they are adjusted correctly had a huge affect on sustain. Closer to the strings, not necessarily better as the magnets tend to dampen the sustain if you get too close. In any case, replacing with newer style bridge should be fine.

Thanks, Miles! The original bolts might be a better idea, since at least I will know they have a perfect fit. (I found Gibson style bolts are too wide for the bridge to slot in). SO you have those available? How much would that cost me, including shipping to The Netherlands?
