I know most folks don't give a Rodent's Rump about American Idol, I have watch them every year, so I had to watch the finale too.

Rubin Studdard (Season 2 Winner) did a Duet, and look who was Center Stage and in the Spotlight: (anybody know which model this is??) It sounded absolutely Incredible, and that guy could Play!

The '07 was the pinnacle of the LX series pre-DW before they shut down the Mothership factory. Idk what it was in the materials and construction but the acoustic tone was fantastic. The wood topped Adamas I played on the Road Show tour was no better than the '07C. Anyhow, the '07C had a nice crisp sound with all that deep and loud projection of the contour bowl. The single side epaulets on the cutaway are perfect to my ears.

The OpPro Studio preamp has both a compressor and harmonic exciter in it, and when plugged in the sound is just amazing with a touch of each.

I needed to thin the herd by one, and it came down to the '07C or the 2080. I kept the 2080 but wouldn't say it is any "better" than the '07C. The Adamas has a bit more clarity and note separation when playing chords, and the carbon fiber top is more responsive to right hand technique (though I don't have much of that).

There was something very special and very right about the '07C.

The '07C came with the VIP-5 preamp... Which is the major reason that I sold mine.
Silly Me. I could have just gotten an OP-Pro or a Studio.
Kept the guitar and sold the VIP preamp.

I had forgotten that I had bought a Studio from Al for the guitar to replace the factory standard VIP. When the Studio died suddenly it was one of the reasons I sold the '07C. To keep the '07C I would want to buy another Studio preamp for it.
