Hi all

I have a line on some Collectors...all appear in great shape. Any opinions on the 88-P, 91, 94, or AN35-5?

I'll probably buy one of them tomorrow!

Stay away from the 88 unless you like shallow bowls and 16 fret necks. The other three are similar enough except for cosmetics. Personally I'd buy the 91 giving a node to deep bowl and black finish.

I can't speek to the others, but I have enjoyed my 94 collectors for over twenty years. The optima preamp has begun to crap out on it, but other than that it has been great.

I once had a 35th Anny.
It is just like an 1861 with an OP-24+ preamp and some bling.
It is a nice little guitar... but I sold mine.
It is a BLACK SSB Balladeer.

Arthur, you sure AN-35 isn't a mid depth bowl?

Yup!

But I don't own this any longer.
Another bad decision... and I have made so many.

Sorry, I was thinking of the 1991 Collectors (25th Anniversary). THAT one was a deep bowl.

Yes, the 91 was a deep bowl.

Thanks for your input. It was tough choosing between the AN35 and the 88-P, but I ended up buying the 88-P. Mostly because I am fond of super shallow bowls and 16 frets to the body! A fully "accessible" 24 fret neck is kind of like my Breadwinner (if you have a good imagination).
