Hello everyone

It's been a while and I apologize if this is the wrong place to post but I had a few questions regarding Adamas 1687.

1) I'm a noob when it comes to history. What is the main difference between original Adamas 1687 and the Reissues? is it just purely the updated electronics?

2) Prices: I've noticed some used Adamas 1687-8 on Ebay where the prices are so varied I wonder if you can let me know why that is. For instances there are some online from 80s or 90s that are priced over 5k and even the 30th anniversary from 2007 at that price. I've also noticed some that sell from $2000 from 1979 and on. What's a good price for an original, reissue, etc?

Thank you so much!

Click the "US Only" box on your eBay search.
The prices suddenly become more reasonable.

Also, if you search "Sold Listings" you will find that not many sell at more than $2K.
At least not through eBay.

Most of the $5,000 Adamii are from Japan.
Apparently they Love Ovations more than Yankees and have more money.

thank you Old Man Arthur~!

Can you give me some insight as to the value and qualities of the original Adamas 1687 I vs the Reissue models? (I'm assuming that anything prior to reissue from 70s,80s 90s are all considered original. Please let me know if there are different versions)

I am not qualified to answer those questions.
I know that I got to play an Original Slothead and it was AWESOME.

Whenever you talk about "value" you get into the Antiques Roadshow dilemma...
I can tell you that a 1537 is worth $1500, but two sold on eBay for $500 or less.
So, value can change with the market and the day of the week.

There are members here who own the Originals and the Re-issues
so they should answer quality questions.
