I have a model 1711 Ovation Standard Balladeer. No other markings. Like new condition. But, by the pre-amp to the left about 1 inch away from the pre-amp is a battery sized compartment. NO COVER. I would like to find the cover if this is where the battery goes. It has a slight curve to it. I have looked online but no help there. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Doug

Kinda like this?

I can give you a coupla suggestions;
If you are the handyman type you can buy a generic box and replace your battery box:
https://www.amazon.com/Battery-Holder-Compartment-Guitar-Pickup/dp/B...

Or! And this would probably be the better solution...
You can contact the Ovation Repair Shop... http://www.ovationguitars.com/contact

I hope this helps.

No holder for the battery compartment. Battery just goes in fits snug and has a spring tension when you push it down. Curved compartment on face of guitar.

Don't worry Doug, you are not the first one to make that mistake.

One of those times when Ovation engineers were too clever for their own good.
