| Well, after looking at a few Ovation guitars I finally purchased one. I bought an Ovation Balladeer ser no. 396XXX, model 4861. Its an Acoustic over Electric and is in great shape. It is kinda quiet just strumming, but hooked to an amplifier really sounds good. This wasn't the kind I would use around a campfire though. I wanted a deeper body with better sound so started looking again. I found the Gold one through a local seller. Also an Acoustic over Electric and this is a beautiful sounding guitar. The ddp body gives a very rich tone and carries the sound very well. This is a model 1711 Standard Balladeer made in CT no ser no. found and not sure where to look. Not sure of the manufacturing date, but I absolutley love this guitar |

how do I add pictures??
The easiest way that I know of is to post a link to another image hosting site.
Photobucket, Picassa, something like that.
Also there should be a button down below that sez "Attach a file after posting"
But that might be for "members only"...
A Moderator will be along eventually to upgrade your status.
Coincidentally, my first Ovation was a 4861. Nice guitars.
Solid Spruce Top. But it is a Super Shallow Bowl so it ain't very loud.
A 1711 is louder.

| ok. I can now post pictures. So the one I call multi colored was my first Ovation. The Sunburst is the second Ovation and the one I will take camping. Campfires singing is a blast. Give it a try sometime. Both guitars are Acoustic over Electric so either one sounds great with an amp. |
