There is a circuit that the pot is mounted to which could be the culprit as electronic parts (especially capacitors) from that era are prone to failure. Additionally, the pots are "stacked" pots and depending on the version, the tangs are on opposite sides of the pot. Some of us (like myself for instance" have used ones we can take off an otherwise toasted pre-amp, but finding new ones is tough. As far as the switches go, they are no longer manufactured by anyone. There are a couple of sources where they "might" have a couple left over. Contact Ovation directly and see what they have to say about those.

I have a stacked pot I could take off a blown pre-amp I have. email me at mileskb at aol dot com and we'll work out the details. Also, by time you read this, you're a full member and can post in the general section.

Understand these switches are difficult to find. Could it be possible they may be available somewhere? If not, is there somewhere to buy these types of switches, i.e. ON - ON and ON ON ON miniatures that have matching handles?

I've scoured www.mouser.com and similar "sources" and come up empty. Cannibalization is tough as well. Best of luck!

You could try Ovation, they may have a few laying around, also the co-founder of this club Alpep of LostArtVintage.com I think has some.

Suppose I could use light guage strand wire as with the tone control pot, allowing some slack. Also found a DPDT 6 pin On-On miniature toggle with solder lugs. Bat handles are alike, but don't have the same contour as the original. Both found on ebay after extensive search. Hoping they will suffice, but intend to contact Ovation and a couple other possibles before proceeding.

When you get to the Menu, choose John Budny. He will help you with your obscure parts needs. Best of Luck
