| Hello! Nice to discover this forum exists. Hopefully someone can help me. When I originally purchased my Ovation, I was not very familiar with their models and didn't do any research. Now I'm interested in knowing exactly what I have, but I'm really confused. The label inside my guitar lists the model as 6778LX. That's a standard elite from what I understand. When I look at pics though, mine isn't quite the same. It's the natural finish, but I have only one set of epaulets while all the others I've seen have two. I picked up this guitar around 2007. I am aware of the black finish model which also has only one set of epaulets in the same place. I did email Ovation and they told me yes we did a short run of those, but no other info. |

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | If it says 6778LX on the label, that is what it is.
There were some one sided epaulet models.
HERE was one.
But THIS is the New England Burst that most people think of when you say 6778LX.
Helpful?

| Yes, very helpful! It just threw me because I figured the model number would have indicated that difference. Mine looks exactly like the first pic. Were there many made like this? I bought it because the tone was unlike any acoustic I heard before... Very warm and rich. |
