Just wanted to give a heads up in case anyone is interested. Saw this in a store yesterday - I have no affiliation with the store or the guitar.

But it's a 12 fret steel string Ovation with a wide fingerboard, slotted headstock.

Top was in almost mint condition.

Tag on the guitar says "70's Ovation". I believe the serial # is 026692 (I took a pic of the serial # but it's very grainy.)

Neck action seems very good. Didn't see any cracks or scratches on the back - frets seem to have very little wear.

I took a couple more pics of the front and the headstock (sorry no pics of the back) - I'll e-mail them to anyone who's interested (contact me at "pm360life at gmail dot com").

Includes case; they're asking $699 - I have no idea if they'll deal.

The store is Rhapsody Music in Mankato, Minnesota: here's a link to their website "Used" page:

http://www.rhapsodymusic.net/used.html

When I strummed this thing, I could not believe how LOUD it was! Sounded excellent, too - with old strings!

Hopefully someone here can give it a good home (I play lefty, or I'd be all over it)!

If someone wants me to check it out more thoroughly, I'll be back in Mankato next Friday.

I saw that guitar there when I was in Minnesota in August. Almost bought it but didn't.

Was it the price, or, was there an issue with the guitar I didn't catch? Did you try negotiating with them at all?

Just curious - might be helpful information to others here...

It was neither. I try to limit the number of possessions which I have so another guitar just didn't fit into that picture. However if I ever encounter the right sunburst I might increase my number of possessions by 1!!!
