I love my Ovation bass. But the back is slippery as all get-out and it really wants to keep sliding off my lap.

Has anyone come up with a home remedy for this? Will my bass always want to run away?

Thanks for any advice.

I've never had a problem

but make sure you are sitting correctly
feet flat on the ground or prop up one leg

there are "solutions" out there but really they are silly.

the only one I ever had an issue with was an early shiny bowl

I found some 3M self-adhesive slip resistant tape at my local hardware store. It's pretty anti-skid stuff. I cut a length of it and applied it to my bass where it sits on my lap. The problem seems to be solved!
