Hi, all. I, unfortunately, broke the edge of the nut off on my 2002/2003 Celebrity CS257. I thought I would easily replace it with a GraphTech TUSQ, but after pursuing their website, it seems that they do not have a direct replacement for it.

Here are the specs:
String width: 1-5/16"
Nut width: 3/16"
Nut length: 1-5/8"
Nut height: 11/32"

I tried ordering one from Amazon that was *supposed* to fit. No luck. String spacing way too wide.

I realize, of course, that I can sand down the length, height, and width to make it fit *if* the string spacing is correct.

And I realize that I can make a new one out of just a stock nut and put in my own nut slots. But I hate to do that because I will probably mess it up. So I thought I would check with you guys (and gals) first and see if any of you have found a source for a nut with these dimensions?

Being built in Korea so long ago, I doubt the Mother Ship would even stock these.

Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks.

Regards,
Bill

Measure before ordering.

My CS257 has a 1.67 in Nut length. (42.3mm)

I have used THIS on an Elite T.
But be sure to have some Sandpaper on hand for Fine Tuning.

Thanks, Arthur. I installed the white nut, cut the slots to the right depth (I've never done that before), shaved the top of the nut until the strings were exposed correctly, and filed the nut for the correct length. Whew! What a job! But I learned a few things and my guitar has the right neck relief, string action, and intonation. Mission accomplished!

Glad that worked-out.

Did you buy more than one?
Whenever I am doing "new" projects (new to me) I usually buy TWO.
Two Saddles, Two Nuts, two whatever things that I am going to Modify.
That way, if I screw-it-up I have a spare.

Isn't that feeling of accomplishment Great?
