Anyone own both and played them side by side? - I am guessing different woods, different bracings. Anything else? Which one moves more water when used as a boat oar?

Bracing (fan vs. VT10), top (spanish pine vs spruce), tuners (gold vs chorme)....

An Ovation from that era that intrigues me is the 14 fret 1124/1624... but I've to this day still never played one.

I've got a real nice 1624 I bought off CL for $100. (no case)

It's the best sounding nylon Ovation I've ever played, including those with torrefied tops.

What I don't really like about the 13 or 16 is that the bass overpowers the treble strings. My 1624 is pretty balanced.

+1 what Dan said! I love my 1624 and sold a 1713 which was sounding dump.
