Did the earliest Custom Legends come without electronics? I looked at the Ovation Tribute page and the earliest they show is the 1719-4

1619-4 and 1119-4 were introduced at the same time in 1974. 1719-4 came later.

Glen Campbell had a 1119-4 that he played in the mid 70's. There's a couple of videos of that on youtube......

I don´t know the bowl material, it´s the old, heavier stuff. But the 1119 necks are the old ones, too, the period before the Kaman bar necks. These guitars sound incredible and are IMHO the best playable Ovations ever. Very hard to find in Europe. If you can buy one of these, grab it no matter what condition. Use light strings only.

There’s no truss rod cover, so you’re right about it not having the Kaman neck. From the photos it looks like new(except for the case)

If it doesn't have a truss rod cover then it is a Kaman bar neck-the Kaman bar neck has the truss rod adjustment inside the bowl.It is probably a SMC bowl heavier/thicker fiberglass than the hand laid bowls of the 70's but an 1119 is a great guitar either way, what year is it- from 82 on it would be kaman bar/smc bowl.

What link didn't work for you???

1982. The link not working was my own fault. I didn’t have a good WiFi signal. Thanks. I actually found the same guitar for sale at another location, but it is a 1988 and the price was twice as much.

I've had an '81 and have an '82 1619 -- can definitely confirm '82 was the year of the Kaman bar.
