I'm going to hack in a ovation vip premap into my old applause, the current passive pickup is too twangy. Question, the mini plug on the bottom, is it mono or stereo for the pickup input? If mono, i'd like to get a K&k 3 ultra as seen here: https://www.bluestarmusic.com/KK-Sound-Ultra-Pure-12-String-Guitar-P...

but i wont need the soundhole board. can't find just the pickup with that plug. Thanks for any help.

Normally a mono plug.

That's a heck of a project for an Applause. I understand the emotional attachment and the fun of seeing what can be done, but if you are just doing it for the quality of sound you would be better off with an external pedal.

Also, jmho, the Op Pro Studio is better in wood topped guitars than the VIP.

thanks, no studio socket available for me, looked here and went with vip https://www.mydustyguitar.com/preamps?page=2

I had a Schatten HFN Passive Transducer (for sale on ebay) in it but this will be a journey instruments 3 transducer pickup instead.

done, i was maybe 1/8" off on the location of the curve but it works out ok. Sounds much better than the previous one but my output jack is hard to side into, I used a little wd-40 silicon on it to help.

yes, there is only the blue applause now. i only have a tiny amp so not sure the sound would translate well but its much nicer being able to tweak the ranges.
