Ovation recently announced two new USA made guitars, an Élite and a Legend, both sport a mid bowl and have a cutaway.

I love the idea of new Ovations made in the USA, but would have preferred a deep bowl without the cutaway. 

 

Your thoughts?

I can live with the cutaway.. but the deep bowl would be nice. Maybe that innovation will come next (we hope).

I wonder how that would feel... The mid bowl already feels big to me. I mostly dig my super shallow Tangent. It can't beat the sound of my Balladeer though.

Thanks for the link. And yes. Let's hear it. I mean, they guy was holding two of them, so it would be nice if he were to at least play a few chords and actually speak and elaborate more than 45 seconds of cell phone camera fast-talk on it if they expect us to come and spend "twenty-five-hundred bucks" on one. I checked the Ovation website and can find nothing about the new USA-made. The site's "news" section takes you absolutely nowhere.. so I suspect they are going to build a very few of them.

Thanks they look nice with walnut appointments. But yeah they need to get them out for reasonable price. The AX junk is way too pricey so I doubt they will be offered for reasonable amount.

Location: Phoenix AZ		The $1500 to $2500 price range is very competitive with nice guitars from many makers. I certainly wish Ovation the best of luck.

Those are deep? They look the same as my Balladeer that I thought was a mid bowl. I am not sure I understand the difference.

Location: Canada		I think that the contour bodies are all "deep". But I notice the lack of TRC so it is not a LX neck. I really hope that they don't use set necks for these.

They showed these at NAMM again I've heard they will start producing this them year,contact Alex Pepiak at Lost Art Vintage he can probably give you details on how to order one

Location: Pewaukee, WI		Thanks for the link! The made in Czech Republic guitar looks interesting, as does the Celebrity Deluxe with the side holes. I'm interested in the US made Elite, but may have to save up for it. But I like the carved bridge.

Looks awesome. I'm very curious about the side ports. And it's great to see Ovations made in CT again. I also want to try out some deep contour axes. I wish they made basses with that bowl too.
