I came home from work last night and here it was - my newest additon waiting for me. I wasn't expecting it yet, so was greatly surprised. Changed clothes and immediately opened the box. I purchased this used from ebay and was told the electronics didn't work, but nothing was said about the general condition. This guitar looks like it has been in storage for several years - dirty dirty! The headstock has a major chip and the bowl is covered in scratches, sticky stuff and three strips of velcro (each about 3 inches longs). Structurely the guitar appears to be okay. The problem for me is the tag is gone so I have no idea what model I have. The serial number is there and according to the chart this guitar is USA made in 1990. SN is 429411. The chart also states that Pacific Rim models start with a 4 - so???? Describtion is: Deep bowl, a/e cutaway, Barnburst top, black neck, diamond inlays, gold Ovation logo, and silver tuners. Is there anyway to know for sure if this is a USA model? If it is I don't feel bad about what I paid considering it's overall condition. I'm pretty sure it'll clean up okay so am not too bummed out about a dirty guitar. No major defects were noticed at least. Anyway, I'm excited to have another - not brings my total roundback count to two (counting my Applause). Yippee!!

That's the problem - I don't have the model number. The Ovation tag is missing! I have written Ovation and gave them to s/n and asked if they could provide the model number. I'm hoping! I'll try and post some pics after I get it cleaned up good and restrung.

Contacted Ovation and was directed to contact Kim Keller at Kaman.com. I hoping he can help. I attached pictures for him. Now will try to attach a pic here so you all can see. I got it all cleaned up and restrung. Plays nice and has a nice tone. Put 13's on and it rolls off a nice bassy tone. Okay, here hoping on the picture.

Looks like a Celebrity or an Ultra, based on what appears to be a rosewood fingerboard. What's the preamp look like?

Definitely from overseas. Maybe 20-25 years old. What exactly, I don't know.
