I've got a question for the slide players out there or anybody else who can answer this.

I posted this video on the YouTube thread. Next to Kndred Spirit It's fun to see the unusual technique Sonny has developed to coax those sweet sounds out of his Strat.

He does something at 1:37 into the video that baffles me. He taps the guitar with his palm then does something with his palm and the slide. Listening to it sounds like tweaking the volume knob. OK, very bad description, just watch the video. If somebody has an idea of what he's doing I would love to know!

He's just awesome.
He's hitting the body to generate the tone and then sliding his hand across the strings at a specific harmonic.
Same thing with the pointed finger, he's hitting that harmonic and then sliding up with the slide from there.
I had a chance to see and meet him again last year. A very nice and humble guy. You ever have a chance to go see him, do it.
