Just a quick heads up for those attending the Open House.

I had the opportunity to visit HQ, getting some factory work done on some of my prized axes. I arrived right at lunch time so I went over to town. I had a fantastic lunch at Chatterley’s Cafe in New Hartford. It is just across the river from the factory.
I had a wonderful piece of mahi-mahi with a fantastic vanilla infused coulis with shaved fennel with a nice glass of Sauvignon Blanc. There were other people having burgers and beer. Everything I saw looked very good and the prices were very reasonable. I think my total came to $16.

After lunch I had a great, albeit short, visit with John Budny. What a great guy and a fantastic representative for the company. He took some time to show me around and made it feel like I was a friends visiting, not “just another customer”.

And yes, I did get to briefly play a VXT. Whooboy… I only played it through an acoustic amp (I am mostly an electric lead player) but I was entranced with the fit, finish and playability. Find one! Play it! You will NOT be disappointed!

Although I had been hoping to attend the open house, it appears I will be out of the country.
Plan on spending a little extra time in the countryside around New Hartford. If you can swing it, come in or go back on RT 219. It comes into New Hartford right at the factory. And it is a beautiful little ride coming in by Lake McDonough. You may be rethinking your career after this visit.
I am sure anyone who can make it will have a superb time. And next time I wil not let a little thing like work get in my way!

I've been to Chatterley's a couple of times, and it IS a VERY nice place.
Attentive staff, AWESOME food, and an impressive list of libations.

I suspect Jeanette and Susan will find their way over there sometime Friday afternoon . . .

Sounds like one of those places where they throw you out for farting.

The have an outdoor patio so you may flatulate with alacrity.
I am sure other on the tour would appreciate it if you got it all out of your system beforehand...

And no, the place is not snooty at all. There were locals hangin' out at the bar, drinking beers and shooting the shit. That's a bit more my speed but it was an incredibly nice Spring day and I asked the waitress what she recommended.
She was right on.
