Looks like 2007 is shaping up to be an impressive year for G.A.S. relief.

Did anyone notice the EF-417 in Al's newsletter? Man that looks nice. Someone told me that the product manager at Tak has that one as his personal favorite guitar. Might have to sniff around on that a little ... Dave

I keep going back to the first page of this thread and drooling over the pictures, then reading Dave's rav reviews. And then Al's newsletter shows up and I have to stare at the pics again. My wife has predicted that I will buy 2 more guitars this year - sounds like a green light to me. I may have to break down and sell something.

I just can't get over the beauty of that top. I really hope the rest of the run is as beautiful as Tupp's No. 1.

Joined: January 2006 Posts: 5881 Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | Thanks to Tupp and Al, those attending the reunion had the good fortune to admire and play not one, but four of these models. Tupp brought Number 1 and Al picked up Numbers 3, 4 and 5 from the factory en route to the hotel. There was a substantial buzz throughout the lobby about the senational looks of these guitars. No. 3 appears to have a quilted finish in addition to the vivid multi-colored stripes of the heavily figured Koa. Based on looks, these models are true collector pieces. During the tour, Rick Hall lifted up a Koa top bowl sitting on a shelf and made reference to it being one of Al's "special creations", then added how rare they were because the factory just doesn't do much one-off stuff in such wild Koa.
