Location: Los Angeles | Hello all - new to the forum here.
I recently picked up an '81 Custom Legend with the Mono/Stereo Jack. I plugged into the stereo jack with a mono cable and got the expected 2,4 & 6 string output; however, when I plugged into the mono jack I got no output at all.
After fiddling around inside, I notice some type of terminal was touching the tip of the guitar cable plugged into the mono jack causing the 'short' if you will. I moved that terminal away from the cable tip and got sound on all six strings. So, I positioned that terminal so it wouldn't touch the cable tip at all. The only thing I notice is that the output isn't as strong as the output I got out of the 2,4 & 6 strings when I plugged into the stereo jack.
The guy I bought the guitar from said he never tinkered with the guitar. I believe him 'cause he was so not the tinkering type nor a gear-head type at all.
I just want to know what I'm doing wrong, if anything, or what to do to get this working as it should. This is my first Ovation and I really know nothing about how these stereo versions work.
Any help is extremely appreciated.
