Hi all from Merseyside in England. I've just bought an ovation 1768-4c secondhand. I don't know anything abouth this type of guitar but liked the sound and neck. I also dont know the year and can't see any obvious serial number, just the Hartford sticker and 1768 - 4c only. I believe it might be 1995 ish. Any info about this model would be appreciated. It came with ovation hardcase and cost £700 or $1000 us equivalent. It has an odd ding but nothing major.
Thanks

I'm not computer literate i'm afraid so couldn't get pics of the guitar on here. They are on the Ovation fan club site under stephenbyrne.

Very nice guitar. The -C in this case means cedar, which is what your top is. Gives that nice warm tone. Not too many of these around, and a very good find. Plus great to look at. Enjoy!!

I had one at one time, and it was an outstanding guitar. The cedar top really puts out a nice warm tone. If I remember correctly, they came out in the mid 90's. You are very fortunate to have aquired it.

Thanks for your replies. My basset is called BERTIE. The guitar is kept in its case in the back bedroom. I've just seen a new Custom Legend LX in a loval store and it sounds nice. Would this be a retrospective step. Should i keep this one.
