I unboxed my new toy this morning. A Celebrity Deluxe CC48 which has the on board tuner. I'm feeling pretty stupid because I never figured out how to use the tuner. There were no instructions in the literature on the pre-amp or tuner. I was able to tune the guitar and played many hours today. I have very sore fingers.
Anyway, I'm just a little bummed about not knowing how to use the tuner. I also looked on the Ovation website and didn't find anything.
If there is anything you guys can tell me or some sort of written instructions that I can read, please let me know.
Thanks,
Corey |

This should look sorta like the OP-Pro without the pre-shape button.
You should just have to push the tuna button and little arrow V's should appear, pointing up and down.
If you push the little button and don't get the V's, check your battery.
If you have an OP-20 or OP-30, it is the same thing only with little dots. |

E A# V
B F V
G C# V
D 6# V
A d# V
E A# V
I thought when the string was in tune, the display should look like this for example:
^
E
V
The guitar is in tune, so I'm really confused. I'm starting to think the tuner is not working. |

On the Big E, you are either really high, or really low.
The tuna will tell you if you are at E, G, or any other key... But it won't tell you Which E or what ever.
First, Go to this online Tuna... And get a basic tune.
Then from there on, use the built-in tuna to fine tune.
If the tuna sez A#V for example, it means that you are just above A#.
Once you get a basic tune going you figure the rest out.
If it sez E^, that means tune up to get E... You'll see.
When you get it in tune, the ^ and the v will make a whole diamond, then you got it. |

Thanks again. |

You just have to remember your alphabet. Your strings were probably loosened to avoid neck problems in shippping. Once the strings stretch out, it should stay in tune for a long time. Enjoy it. |
