Kaman II 8 8391 611-93 Can anybody help me out here and let me know what kinda ovation it is,when it's built and what the price will be today for this guitar. Thanks a lot :) | ||

Joined: February 2002 Posts: 5750 Location: Scotland | From the little info you've provided it's most likely an Adamas 1, as it's signed by Beal, and they were with the only guitars at the time to carry that signature. The serial number 611 makes it circa 1979. The -93 suffix is the fundamental frequency of the soundbox (all early Adamas included this as the last 2 digits of the serial number) However you must have mis-read the other digits. The "8" would suggest the finish colour (blue) but what may be the 4-digit model code 8391 does not correspond to any Ovation model | ||

It's an Ovation Adamas II 611-93 1688-8 As far as I'm told it's: 611 = 1979 (the started in 1979 with the serial 600 93 = sound box 11 = the 11th guitar that left the factory 1688 = 12-string 8 = Colour = Blue Is this the guitar that's also known as the Glen Campbell >????? Is this the correct way to read the serial? | ||

Also the Adamas II did not have Bill's signature or the soundbox frequency. The only differences apart from that between the Adamas I and II are bridge/headstock design and neck construction. | ||
