She's still supposed to be working off the Porsche from last year, but she bought herself a new dining room chandelier today. If both girls make it home safely, she'll be plenty happy.

Thanks to Karen's suggestion, I tried to get a gift certificate to a tea room that was close to our house, but it closed its doors.

A new frying pan ... the current one has all kinds of head dents in it. oh, and little lacy something. And a little lacy something else. And a plane ticket so Max can be home at Christmas. A couple of boxes from Isabella Bird and a couple from Eddie Bauer. Le Creuset in red. A small shiny object yet to be procured. And a new song. From the heart.

Now, this is the truth. She wanted to be able to have instant hot water at the kitchen sink, so I bought a hot water recirculator that mounts on the heater and keeps hot water in the pipes at all time. Works great, and she's happy.
Honest, that's what she asked for.

A ukelele.
Seriously - it's what she asked for.
It's a bit smaller than what I bought me. Pics in due course.

Oddly enough, me. Or more to the point, me on CD, which is even more disturbing.
I kid you not, the only thing she wants from me this year is a CD of me doing some original songs I've written, in "demo" style, just me and a guitar, no production, no dubbing, nothing extra (she knows if I get buried in trying to make it "perfect" - which never happens - it'll never get finished).

Getting it "right" all the way through for one take - it's harder than I thought it would be.
Shopping was easier.

Lady Weaser's got one of those too but I'm afraid to get a new one what with all the advancements they've made in metals these days...do they make Nerf pans?

Not a thing. We stopped this ritual a few years ago and decided that year-round buying and gift-giving was way more fun.
