I still have the factory strings on the Ovation-.12.
so why not just put a new set of the same gauge strings on it?

QuestionTemp, In the spirit of OFC Rule #1 ( located in the Terms of Service ) I'll reply to your original question...
although I don't know the "heaviest string width" for your specific model guitar, my experience with various acoustic Ovations has been that as long as I've used a set of strings made for Acoustic Guitar from any reputable manufacturer ( Ovation Adamas, D'Addario, Martin, Gibson, Fender, Dean Markley, Ernie Ball, to name a few ) and used standard E tuning I've had NO problems. Your local guitar store expert ought to be able to assist you with your selection.

Hey questiontemp.... please... what's the history or meaning behind that screen name?.
.
I might have PM'd you to but believe me but Moody and Bobbo themselves are way more than you could ever handle.
