It was 24 below at my house this morning. It's up to 12 below now. But no Flacky, we don't have this year after year. That's what makes it so much "fun". This is my fifth winter in Hot Springs, and only the second time I've seen such cold. Usually winters are mild here between the mountains that surround us and all the warm water just beneath the surface. It usually gets up into the 50's and 60's during the day (OK, sometimes it's in the 30's, but I have also seen 70's, even in January!) Night time temps drop into the 20's, but that bright sunshine does wonders. Today though, our high temp is supposed to be two above. They are only expecting ten below tonight. Downright balmy compared to last night.

We never lost power, so it's just an adventure. For those back east who are still without power, my heart goes out to you. I hope you are all safe and warm in a shelter somewhere, and that your power is restored soon so you can go back home and start dealing with frozen pipes!

It updates if you refresh it, too.

It's even cold here. Nothing like the midwest, but when it's freezing and snowing on the Oregon coast and the Willamette valley has 7+ days below freezing...

Partly cloudy and 75 today, supposed to be near 80 for the next few days. This time of year always makes enduring high summer worth it.

I feel for all of you shivering in the dark. Stay safe.

I used to live in Phoenix. I'll take this any day.

I remember a day where I was outside working and it hit 122 degrees. So hot they actually closed the airport.

A few weeks of cold vs. living on the surface of the sun... Easy choice for a fat man.

Well, if you guys'd just get-on-the-stick and hurry UP with that "End of Days" bullshit, we wouldn't have to worry about the climate . . .

It was 50 degrees when I left for work today.
It will be down to 15 degrees before midnight.
That's just crazy.

Now that we have power, the party moves to our house! They're saying some people won't get power to thursday. Looks like I'm gonna have some house guests.
